My 7 year old son really liked this book. One of his favorite parts was when the bird was inside the pumpkin at the end. He felt like the author wrote at his level.

Again, Sheri Koones hits another home run for anyone interested in great design, techniques and resources with pre-fab houses! Not only am I finding great inspirations for my own designs, but especially handy is the Source Guide in the back of the book. I'm using it to death already. I would recommend this book to anyone that is planning to design and build a custom home. Pre-fab is the way to go (saves cost and time, increases quality!), and Sheri Koones' book is one of the best references I've seen!

My son and I had a great time with the Diggin' Up Dinosaurs T-Rex. It was so much fun to uncover pieces of the dinosaur and speculate about where the next piece would be found. It took about 2 hours total to get everything dug out--I did not let my son hit it with a hammer like he wanted to. It's great for teaching patience! The one thing that I didn't enjoy (and this is my type-A personality coming out) is that it was really, really messy! If you have a good outdoor area to do this, that would be great. However, it was easy to clean up, and the joy this activity brought to my son was worth the mess! One tip--using a small dropper of water to wet the area you want to work in cuts down on dust, and, I thought, helped move things along a little quicker. FYI--my son is 8. There is no way he could have stuck this out on his own, but he has ADHD, so judge accordingly!

You defiantly need a good foundation or bed frame. We first had Purple on a split queen box springs, this was a poor choice. You could feel the lump where the two boxes meet and thus this effected the comfort of the mattress. Because of a move we trashed the boxes springs and ended up putting the Purple right on the floor. It was really nice, we couldn't feel the other hardly move. We now have a bed we got from IKEA and use the LONSET slats, we love this bed! Again to recap, I do believe that you need a really foundation or bed frame!
